Hopi ear candles are a pleasant, non-invasive treatment of the ears, used to treat a variety of conditions. The candles induce a revitalising heat upon head and ears, which soothes, relieves and relaxes.

What to expect at a treatment session
After a brief medical history has been taken, you will be asked to lie down on your side. A lighted candle will then be inserted gently into the ear; each candle takes 10 minutes or so to burn to the required level. On completion of one ear the same will be repeated on the other. A soothing Reiki head treatment follows in order to enhance the effect of the candles. You will remain fully clothed at all times and each session takes about 45 minutes.

How does it work?
As the candles burn their tube shape creates a chimney effect, drawing away any impurities, a combination of mild suction and the heat from the candle circulate vapours within the ear, which gently massages the eardrum. This helps to alleviate incorrect pressure in the head, stimulates the blood and lymph circulation, which boosts the immune system and regulates the pressure within your sinuses.
Reiki head treatment can also increase the effectiveness of Hopi ear treatment by encouraging the release of toxins from the body and aid relaxation.

Can you treat any condition?
Although anyone can be treated with Hopi ear candles there are cases where Hopi should not be used. These are called contra-indications. The contra-indications for Hopi Ear candling are:

• Infection or inflammation of the ear
• Surgery on the ear within the last 3 months
• Perforation of the ear drum
• Auricular cysts
• Grommets, drains or ventilation tubes fitted
• Known allergy to bees wax/stings.
• Epilepsy

Treatment is charged at £35.00 including Reiki therapy for the head and lasts up to 40 minutes.
